Olive Wood Carving Boards

From: £129.00

A carving board in extraordinary olive wood — complete with juice well. Every piece is uniquely grained. Bring it to the table and let it speak for itself.

Description

A carving board with a grain worth looking at.

Our olive wood carving boards are made for the table — a natural juice well around the perimeter catches every drop as you carve, while the extraordinary grain of the olive wood makes each board as beautiful to look at as it is functional. Handmade in our Surrey Hills workshop, each board is a one-of-a-kind piece of timber that no amount of replication could reproduce.

Olive wood is dense, naturally antibacterial, and hard-wearing — an ideal material for a carving board that is going to see regular use. The flowing grain patterns and warm colouring develop further with regular use and oiling, meaning the board genuinely improves over time.

These boards can be personalised with engraved lettering or a carved motif for a more personal touch, or left plain to let the timber do what it does best.

They make exceptional gifts for the person who takes the Sunday roast seriously, for housewarmings, weddings, and anyone who loves beautifully made things in their kitchen. A carved joint on an olive wood board is a genuinely different experience from anything a supermarket board could offer.

All engravings are in capitals as standard; lower case available on request. Allow 7–10 working days.

Care Information

Finish: All our olive wood boards leave the workshop treated with multiple coats of our 100% natural, vegan-rated, food-safe chopping board oil — no solvents, no hardeners, just pure plant-based oils that are completely safe for food contact.

Aftercare: Olive wood has a lower natural moisture content than oak or walnut, which makes regular oiling especially important. We recommend treating your board with our food-safe chopping board oil on a regular basis to keep the timber supple, prevent drying, and protect against staining and discolouration. Our oil is available on the website.

Daily care: Always hand-wash with warm soapy water and dry immediately — never put your olive wood board in the dishwasher or leave it submerged in water. Keep away from direct heat, direct sunlight, and damp surfaces. Avoid leaving moist foods on the surface for extended periods.

About olive wood: Each olive wood board is utterly unique. The extraordinary grain patterns, knots and colour variations are entirely natural and cannot be replicated — no two boards will ever look the same. Olive wood can develop very fine hairline cracks over time, particularly if it dries out; regular oiling is the most effective way to keep this to a minimum.

Do not store outside, in a garage, or in any space subject to damp or temperature extremes.
